The Lowe Art Museum supports PK-12 teachers and students with interactive tours, engaging programs, learning resources, lesson ideas, and professional development opportunities.
 

Tours and Workshops

The Education Team is dedicated to crafting immersive onsite and virtual tours that cater to visitors of all ages, igniting a passion for exploring the world of visual arts. With a commitment to fostering meaningful learning experiences, we encourage critical thinking and engage visitors through object-based education. Our tour approach employs thoughtful questions to stimulate student comprehension and align with curriculum connections. Guided tours are led by museum staff and trained volunteer guides, making them accessible and enjoyable for individuals of all ages.

PK — 12 Educational Tours

During guided visits, trained staff lead interactive tours that explore four to five galleries or works of art in the museum. Upon request, tour experiences can include an artmaking activity, creative writing exercise, in-gallery sketching activity, or small group work in the galleries.

  • Highlights Tour: Overview guided tour of the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions; 45 minutes to 1 hour
  • Focus Tour: Two to three permanent galleries, as requested by the visit organizer, examined in-depth; 1 hour
  • Campus Sculpture Tour: Overview guided tour of the Public Sculpture Collection; 45 minutes to 1 hour 
  • Self-Guided Tour: Self-guided tour of the permanent collection or temporary exhibitions; 45 minutes to 1 hour

Please Note: This is only a reservation request. Your booking will not be complete until you receive confirmation correspondence from a staff member at the Lowe Art Museum.

Cost

The Lowe is pleased to be able to currently offer free admission for PK-12 visits and guided experiences!

  • PK-12 Groups (Onsite):
    • 10-35 students: Free (Savings of $175)
    • 36-50 students: Free (Savings of $250)
    • 51-70 students: Free (Savings of $350)
  • PK-12 Groups (Virtual):
    • 10+ students: Free (Savings of $175)
