Long renowned for its lush tropical beauty, the University of Miami campus has in recent years become home to a fine developing sculpture garden. Thanks to the generosity of several donors—and to the efforts of the Lowe Art Museum—more than two dozen sculptures by respected local, national, and international artists have been placed at key focal points around campus. Varying dramatically in scale and style, these striking outdoor works of art serve to attract, delight, and engage members of the University community and the thousands of people who visit the Coral Gables campus each year.

We hope visitors will enjoy discovering the University of Miami’s outstanding collection of outdoor sculptures, which—just like the magnificent natural setting in which they make their home—will continue to grow in the years to come.

We encourage you to explore the collection through GeoMuseumUM. Click here

Professor Lien Tran (UM Interactive Media) and Dr. Diana Ter-Ghazaryan (formerly UM Geography & Regional Studies and now GIS Research Associate at Florida International University) developed GeoMuse with a team of University of Miami NERDLab students and William Jattin (UM Web Developer) and in partnership with colleagues from the Lowe Art Museum.

The GeoMuse project was funded by the Andrew W. Mellon CREATE Grants Program, which supports innovative projects for teaching, learning, and scholarship that feature cultural resources from University of Miami Libraries and the Lowe Art Museum.
